SPACE OBSERVATORY VISIT FOR STAR WATCHING
On 3rd June 2023, Astronomy Club of Ideal Indian School organized an educational trip to a space observatory in Al Wakrah, Doha for a star watching experience for students. The members of the astronomy club along the teachers left the school campus by 7.00 pm.
The Space observatory was set up by the renowned astro-photographer Mr. Ajith Everester. In the beginning, Mr. Ajith gave a brief introduction on the working of telescopes and the types for telescopes used for celestial observations. To enhance curiosity of the students, he then gave a laser- guided tour of stars and constellations in the night sky. With the help of the modern telescopes at his observatory, students could watch the planet Venus, pole star and the moon. The spectacular views inspired the students to explore more on astronomy.
After this unforgettable experience, students returned back to school by 9.00 pm. Ms. Nishima Raashid and Mr. Shijo escorted the students of Girls’ section. Mr. Anwar, Mr. Ajmal and Mr. Baiju accompanied the students of Boys’ section.
