IIS OBSERVES EARTH DAY

Ideal Indian School observed Earth Day with a number of activities. The theme of Earth Day 2024 is ‘PLANET VS PLASTIC’, aiming to highlight the growing concerns about the loss of biodiversity and depletion of the quality of the environment. In the Junior Section, several child-centered activities were conducted to create awareness about the conservation of natural resources. A special assembly was conducted which included speeches, display of placards, and a rendition of an Earth Day song. The students also actively took part in a cleaning program at the school thereby gaining a proper understanding of waste disposal. Students also showed their love and care for Mother Earth by participating in poster-making, coloring activities, and making badges with thoughtful Earth Day slogans. The highlight of the day was an exhibition where students showcased their artistic and creative skills.

The Principal, Mr. Sheikh Shamim Saheb, emphasised the importance of conserving water and electricity, as well as reducing plastic usage. Headmaster Mr. Sajid Shamim and Section Coordinator Ms. Jaseena Abdulla joined the celebration and applauded the participants and teachers for their work, emphasizing the importance of the day. Finally, the students took a pledge to preserve and conserve their self-sustaining planet.

Students from both the Girls’ and Boys’ Sections enthusiastically participated in an inter-house bulletin board contest, demonstrating their awareness of environmental protection, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable living.
