DHWANI CLUB INAUGURATION– 2023 – 24
On 28th May 2023, IIS celebrated the grand inauguration of “Dhwani,” its much-awaited Music & Dance Club, which has become an exciting addition to our already vibrant extracurricular program. The club’s main goal is to encourage creativity, provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, and foster a love for music and dance. Through this initiative, we aim to nurture individuals with a deep appreciation for the arts. The event was graced by Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, our esteemed Principal, who served as the chief guest, and Ms. Bhavna Naik, a renowned Odissi dancer, who was our esteemed Guest of Honor. The ceremony was attended by Heads of Sections, Heads of Departments, dedicated teachers, and enthusiastic club members, making it a truly memorable occasion.
In his address, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, our Principal, emphasized the club’s mission to provide a platform for students to explore their artistic passions. He stressed the importance of creativity, teamwork, and self-expression in empowering students and nurturing their artistic pursuits. Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb commended the efforts of the faculty and students in bringing this club to life and expressed his excitement about witnessing the growth and achievements of the participants.
Ms. Bhavna Naik, in her inspiring speech, highlighted the valuable role of performing arts in the overall development of children. She eloquently described how music and dance not only contribute to physical fitness but also foster mental well-being, creativity, and self-confidence. Ms. Bhavna Naik encouraged students to embrace their artistic passions and explore the endless possibilities of self-expression through music and dance.
During the ceremony, the club’s office bearers were officially appointed. Venika Anil, a talented student from Class 10, was appointed as the secretary of the Girls’ Section, entrusted with leading and organizing various activities within the club. Ms. Malili Gopakumar was appointed as the President of the Club, providing overall guidance and support to ensure the club’s success.
The inaugural event of the Music & Dance Club showcased the immense talent and creativity of the participating students from the Girls’ Section. Their performances left the audience mesmerized, with graceful movements and vibrant choreography, showcasing a variety of dance styles, including semi-classical, contemporary, and traditional forms. The audience also enjoyed melodious musical performances, including captivating vocal renditions and instrumental showcases, revealing the diverse talents of the participants.
Shreya Saravanan, the Assistant Head Girl, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening of artistic brilliance. Akshay, the Cultural Secretary of the Boys’ Section, expressed heartfelt gratitude and proposed a vote of thanks on behalf of the club. Ananditha Devi, the Cultural Secretary of the Girls’ Section, skillfully hosted the program, keeping the audience engaged and connected throughout the event. The Music and Dance teachers from all sections of the school played a vital role in coordinating and guiding the participants, ensuring a seamless and captivating performance.
Under the dedicated guidance of experienced faculty members, the Music & Dance Club is set to offer a wide range of activities and opportunities for students of all ages and skill levels. The club will provide professional guidance, regular lessons, and workshops to further enhance the skills of the students, enabling them to explore their artistic potential to the fullest. With the aim of nurturing a lifelong love for music and dance, the club promises to be a catalyst for personal growth, self-expression, and the celebration of the arts within our school community.
