WORLD FOOD DAY@JUNIOR SECTION

World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on 16 October to
commemorate the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization
of the United Nations in 1945. The students of Junior Section of Ideal Indian
School celebrated World Food Day in their own creative manner. The students
were motivated not to waste food and made them aware that wasted food
means wastage of money and effort which is never good for anyone. Children
were also made to understand the importance of eating nutritious food. A general
discussion was held to raise awareness on food security and sustainable
agriculture, in order to achieve the goal of zero hunger in our country. The
teachers encouraged them to adopt healthy eating habits as eating well is
fundamental to good health and well-being.
Class I and II students were engaged in colouring activities. Students of class 3
and 4 presented speeches and paragraph writing about the ‘ Importance of
Healthy Food’. The main objective of different activities conducted during the day
was to bring awareness in every child and to understand the benefits of
consuming healthy fresh food that meet the relevant food quality and safety.
Through inspirational speeches, thought-provoking quotes and PowerPoint
presentations, the demerits of junk food, the world food problem, malnutrition
and poverty were highlighted.
