Venue: Audio-Visual Room, Ideal Indian School
The Ideal Indian School celebrated Language Day on the 12th of September 2024
in the Audio-Visual Room with great enthusiasm. The event was organized by the
Language Department, and the chief guests were the Principal, Mr. Sheik Shamim
Shaeb, the Headmaster Mr. Sajid Shamim, and the Section Coordinator Ms.
Jaseena Abdulla.
The celebration commenced with a recitation of Quranic verses, setting a serene
and spiritual tone for the event. This was followed by a warm welcome speech by
Ms. Sindhu Hari, with Ms. Sharon acting as the compere for the day. The event
aimed to showcase the beauty and richness of various languages, with
performances in Arabic, Malayalam, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Kannada, and French.
Highlights of the Program:
The program began with the recitation of Quranic verses, invoking a sense of
peace and blessing for the event. Following this, each language was represented
by a series of engaging performances. The Language Coordinators introduced
their respective programs, giving insights into the cultural significance of each
language. The languages featured in the celebration included Arabic, Malayalam,
Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Kannada, and French.
Students delivered inspiring speeches in different languages, highlighting the
importance of linguistic diversity and cultural heritage. The speeches
demonstrated the students’ eloquence and passion for their native languages.
Melodious group and solo songs were performed in various languages, filling the
room with the harmony and rhythm of different cultures.
A thought-provoking skit was performed, focusing on the theme of respecting
elders. The students beautifully portrayed how respecting elders is a universal
value transcending cultures and languages. The skit conveyed an important life
lesson in an engaging and meaningful manner, resonating deeply with the
audience.
Students recited beautiful poems in their respective languages, expressing deep
emotions and sharing cultural stories through their verses. The celebration also
included traditional and contemporary dance performances, blending movement
and music from various linguistic backgrounds. The energy and grace of the
dancers captivated the audience.
The event concluded with the Qatar National Anthem, gracefully performed by
the Arabic Department, marking a respectful and unified end to the celebration.
The event successfully highlighted the linguistic diversity within the school,
fostering an appreciation for different languages and cultures among the
students.
The efforts of the participants, language coordinators, and the organizing
committee were greatly appreciated in the closing remarks. The day was a true
celebration of the power of language to connect and inspire.
