Industrial Visit to Q Expo 2024 by Engineering Graphics Students of
Ideal Indian School, Doha Qatar
Date of Visit: September 18, 2024
Location: Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC)
Participants: 11th and 12th Grade Engineering Graphics Students, Ideal Indian School
On September 18, 2024, the Engineering Graphics students from 11th and 12th grade at Ideal
Indian School had the opportunity to visit the ConteQ Expo 2024 at the Qatar National
Convention Center (QNCC). The visit was part of their educational curriculum to gain real-world
exposure to advancements in construction and engineering technologies. ConteQ Expo is known
for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovations that are transforming the construction
and services sectors. This year’s event featured over 250 exhibitors, including global tech giants
like Microsoft, Google, Huawei, Siemens, and IBM.
During the visit, the students were introduced to several futuristic technologies that are shaping
the future of engineering. A standout feature of the expo was the various Virtual Reality (VR)
experiences offered by different exhibitors. These VR setups allowed students to walk through
3D-printed buildings and experience immersive digital models of future construction projects.
The students were excited to engage with these interactive displays, which gave them a glimpse
into how virtual design tools are being used in modern construction.
In addition to the VR setups, the students had the chance to explore Artificial Intelligence (AI)
technologies. Several booths featured AI-powered platforms that could answer questions in real-
time about construction materials, sustainability practices, and digital infrastructure. This
interaction with AI technologies allowed the students to witness how machine learning is being
applied to improve efficiency and productivity in the engineering world.
As a token of appreciation for their visit, many construction and engineering companies provided
the students with gift covers. These included branded stationery, brochures detailing the
companies’ innovations, and small tech gadgets. Some companies, like Siemens and Microsoft,
gifted USB drives loaded with informative presentations on automation and construction
technology. Local startups also shared eco-friendly products to highlight their focus on
sustainability in construction.
The students found the visit to be both informative and inspiring. The combination of virtual
reality, AI technologies, and exposure to industry professionals gave them valuable insights into
the future of engineering. Many students expressed their excitement about how the concepts they
study in class are being applied in the real world.
In conclusion, the industrial visit to ConteQ Expo 2024 was a great success, offering the
Engineering Graphics students of Ideal Indian School an enriching experience. The visit not only
broadened their knowledge of modern engineering practices but also sparked their interest in
pursuing careers in technology and construction. This hands-on experience will undoubtedly
have a lasting impact on their academic and professional ambitions.
