Article on Telescope, it’s invention, usage and my telescope experience and my own telescope creation

The word ‘telescope’ is derived from its Greek roots ‘tele’ meaning ‘far’ and ‘skopos’ meaning ‘see’. It is the device which is used to see planets, satellites(moons) and stars by the astronomers and scientists. Galileo laid foundation for today’s modern telescopes by constructing his telescope which was basically a tube containing two lenses. But it was actually invented by Hans Lippershey, a Dutch lens maker in the early 1600’s. Telescopes have allowed us to see into and study the depth of space. The shape of the mirror or lens in a telescope concentrates light which is what we see when we look into a telescope. The Hubble Space Telescope(HST) which is a 2.5m diameter telescope and James Web Telescope are some of the telescopes used today. Lately the green comet appeared in 2022 and 2023. For a few months now, planets such as Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and even the Moon- Venus conjunction were visible to us in the sky. I got to view the moon through the telescope. Recently I tried to make my own telescope with which I watch the moon and the planets every night.  I aspire to become an astronomer one day, have my very own telescope and study the mysterious never ending space
