Read ,Analyse and Present [RAP]

One of the best habits one can have in life is reading. Well-written books have the power to educate, enlighten, and guide readers. A great book makes the best companion. Reading is beneficial to one’s overall wellness, which makes it crucial.

Ideal Indian School held a RAP (Read, Analyse, Present) Workshop for girls in Grade 5 on May 23, 2024, at the KG Auditorium between the fourth and fifth periods. The purpose of the workshop was to encourage the girls to read books, analyze and present them, make goals, engage in spontaneous speaking, and learn trivia.

The resource person was author, life coach, and mentor Ms. Sushma Harish. She is an advocate for encouraging youngsters to study holistically and comprehensively through leading numerous workshops. Having always had a flair for writing, she became a part-time blogger in 2006. She left her full-time work soon after, willingly, and became a serious storyteller after being honored with several weblog awards. She also has experience as a Toastmaster. Her first book on the extensive list of her ideal works is Kismet.

Beginning with a prayer led by Ayesha Nadir from 5G, the program began at 9:35 a.m. Ms. Nanthini delivered the welcome speech. DR. Nazima Bi Shaikh Vice principal and Ms Khatija T C Headmistress of Girls’section also jointed the workshop. The workshop began with an interactive segment on the importance of reading, which was followed by a discussion on proper language usage, book analysis techniques, various book genres, authors, and the advantages of reading. Ms. Sushma also talked about speaking in accordance with the circumstance. She gave the pupils an introduction to several authors and their five well- known works, including Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton, Ruskin Bond, Thea Stilton, and Julia Donaldson moreover, she advises students to utilize the Qatar National Library to learn about Qatari culture. Furthermore, she encourages pupils to read a variety of genres, including fiction, horror, fantasy, mystery, and fairy tales, as this broadens their horizons. She gave the pupils an explanation of International World Book Day and introduced them to a few new vocabulary. After that, a book-based game and quiz were held.

The session came to an end by 11.15am.The pupils found the workshop to be very interesting and educational.
