Cristiano Ronaldo is my favorite football player. He has a huge fan base all over the world. He was born
in 1985 in Funchal, the capital of the Portuguese island of Madiera. He currently plays as a forward for
Saudi club, Al Nassr and the Portugal national team.
His mother named him after the 40 th US President Ronald Reagan. His father, Jose Dinis Aveiro, was
kitman of the club Andorinha where Ronaldo began playing football at the age of 8. Located in Madeira,
Portugal, there is a museum dedicated to the life and career of Cristiano along with many memorabilia
and artefacts on showcases like his Ballon d’Or award. The Madeira International Airport located on the
Portuguese island of Madeira got renamed to Cristiano Ronaldo Airport in 2017 in honor of the local
born football star.
With a total of 118 goals for Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo holds the record for the highest international
goal scorer among active male football player. He won most prestigious awards like FIFA Ballon d’Or. At
present he is one of the richest athletes in the world.
