Handball is a fast and exciting team sport where two teams pass a small ball using only their hands and try to throw it into the opponent’s goal.
Each team has 7 players on the court (6 court players and 1 goalkeeper). The team that scores the most goals wins the game.It is usually played on an indoor court, and players must run, pass, jump, and shoot while following rules such as not taking more than three steps without dribbling or passing the ball.

IIS emerged champions at 1st QIHA Inter-School Handball Tournament : Ideal Indian School proudly demonstrated its sporting excellence by clinching victory at the 1st QIHA Inter-School Handball Tournament, hosted by the Qatar Indian Handball Association (QIHA). Our talented athletes delivered exceptional performances marked by teamwork, skill, and determination, bringing immense pride and honor to the school.

Adding to this moment of glory, QIHA felicitated Sahal Faisal Abu Baker for his remarkable achievement in representing the Qatar National Handball Team at the Under-17 Handball World Cup held recently in Morocco. In recognition of his outstanding performance, Sahal was also honored with the Best Player (Boys Category) award of the tournament.

Under-19 Boys Team : Captain: Sahal Faisal Abu Baker, Yedhu Krishna, Muhammed Ashmin Kalliyath, Muaad Bin Muhammed Shafeek, Harshith Reddy Devireddy, Mohammed Omar Khan, Mithraj Vinod, Mohammed Mishal, Muzafar Puthiyaveettil Misfar, Sultan Faisul, Muhammed Hazem, and Hujayfa Khan.

Under the expert guidance of Mr. Satender Singh (Team Coach) and Mr. Nowfal V. M. (Head of Physical Education & Team Manager), the team showcased exemplary discipline, sportsmanship, and perseverance throughout the tournament, setting a benchmark for excellence in school sports.

Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb, along with the Heads of Sections, congratulated the handball team for their outstanding achievements. He lauded their dedication, rigorous training, and indomitable spirit, which have once again brought laurels to the school.
