EDU TALK: Students of Ideal Indian School participated in an EDU talk session focused on “Sustainability in Daily Life,” held in conjunction with Qatar Sustainability Week 2025, organized by the National Museum of Qatar recently. Students from classes 10 and 11 attended the session. Sustainability Week 2025 serves as a unique platform to promote the nation’s sustainability vision and foster community engagement with relevant stakeholders under an overarching framework to achieve the nation’s sustainable development goals.

As part of Qatar Museums’ commitment to youth engagement during Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW), the “Sustainability- Edu Talk” series brings sustainability education directly to school students across Qatar. Designed to spark curiosity and action among students, the interactive sessions introduced key concepts such as climate change, circular economy, and sustainable lifestyles through real-world examples and engaging storytelling.

The sessions were led by Mr. Hemant Nandanpawar, Senior Director of Climate Finance and Stakeholder Management; Ms. Anastasia, Sustainability Science Communicator; and Zaki Ahmed Mohammed, Director of Sustainability Advisory at the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD). The talks aimed to empower the next generation with knowledge, inspiration, and practical steps they can implement in their daily lives. The initial session by Mr. Hemant Nandanpawar focused on “Climate Action Awareness for Sustainable Contributions,” emphasizing the importance of informed actions for a sustainable future.

The “Sustainability- Edu Talk” inspired students to adopt environmentally responsible habits at home and school, such as saving energy, reducing water use, and minimizing CO₂ emissions, showing how small daily actions can have a significant impact. Students also learned about the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) and sustainable construction practices, linking classroom learning with national sustainability goals. The session fostered environmental awareness, motivated students to become responsible citizens, and introduced them to Qatar Sustainability Week, emphasizing the importance of building a sustainable future.
