MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2025

IIS ORGANISES MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2025 CONFERENCE: The IIS Model United Nations (IISMUN) 2025 was conducted recently with remarkable enthusiasm and active participation from senior students of both the Girls’ and Boys’ Sections. The event was organised by the Social Science Department in collaboration with the Students’ Organising Committee, under the patronage of the Principal, Mr. Shaikh Shamim Saheb. The conference was held under the central theme, “Rebuilding Trust in Modern World Governance,” emphasising the indispensable values of cooperation, diplomacy, and integrity in addressing global challenges.

The proceedings commenced with an Opening Ceremony, during which the Heads of Sections, Dr.Nazimabi Sheikh ,VP Girls’ Section and Mr.Azam Khan ,VP ,Boys’ Section felicitated the programme by a thought-provoking and inspiring address. They highlighted the crucial role of youth in restoring global trust and fostering constructive international dialogue. Upon the conclusion of the inaugural session, delegates proceeded to their respective committees to begin the formal discussions.

Participants from Classes IX to XII took on their roles with enthusiasm—as delegates representing various nations and as student officers moderating the proceedings. The conference featured four committees: GA1 (DISEC), GA2 (ECOFIN), UNSC, and UNHRC, each simulating discussions on global peace, economic stability, and human rights. Across three intensive sessions, delegates engaged in meaningful debate, negotiation, and collaborative problem-solving, demonstrating a strong understanding of world affairs.

The Closing Ceremony, held in the evening marked the successful conclusion of the event. The Heads of Girls’ Section and Boys’ Section addressed the gathering, commending the participants for their dedication, eloquence, and spirit of cooperation. The event was further graced by the presence of Ms. Khathija T. C, Headmistress of the Girls’ Section, Mr. Sajid , Headmaster of the Junior Section, and Mr. Anwar Sadath, Headmaster (Academics), whose support and guidance added prestige to the occasion.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards, wherein outstanding delegates were recognized under three categories — Best Delegate, Honourable Mention 1, and Honourable Mention 2. Davin Shaldon D’S, Abdulrahman, Hishana Manoj, and Pragya Agarwal were awarded the title of Best Delegate. Khalid Mohamed, Omer Abdelmajid, Ayat Hafiz, and Afsheen Siddiqui received the Honourable Mention – I awards, while Fatima Khairi, Ayra Rifrad, Shahad Ibrahim, and Nafla Sulaikha were honoured with the Honourable Mention – II awards respectively. Furthermore, certificates of appreciation were also presented to the committee chairs and members of the organizing committee in recognition of their exemplary dedication and outstanding efforts in ensuring the successful and seamless conduct of the event.
