“We hold their hands gently, calm their fears softly, and open the door to a joyful learning journey.”
The Kindergarten (KG) section at Ideal Indian School in Doha offers a nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 5, focusing on value education, personal attention, and the development of written and spoken skills. Emphasis is placed on a wide range of activities and competitions throughout the year, such as Earth Day, World Food Day, Children’s Day, Qatar Environment Day, action songs, recitation, fancy dress, dance, and art and craft competitions. Sports and Annual Day events provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents, and field trips to locations like the zoo, Al Bidda Park, supermarkets, and bakeries are organized to enhance learning experiences. The KG section is under the leadership of Headmistress Mrs. Shirley De Sales, who plays a pivotal role in guiding both students and teachers during the academic year.
The first day of kindergarten is a milestone filled with excitement, joy, happiness, curiosity and nervousness. For many children, it’s their very first experience stepping into a classroom away from home, marking the start of a new adventure in learning. Parents prepare their little ones to meet their new teachers and classmates.

Parents feel proud watching their little ones take their first steps into independence.
Children were greeted with colourful decorations, cheerful posters and the warm smile of their teachers. The classrooms were filled with energy as children explore their new environment – colouring, playing, dancing, singing and introducing themselves. They begin to learn the basics: the alphabet, counting and sharing. Most importantly they start forming bonds with classmates.
Teachers play an important role in making them feel safe. The first day at kindergarten is more than just a day of learning. It’s a day of new beginnings.
