The students of the Junior Section at Ideal Indian School participated in the Kids Eco Club activity on Tuesday, 27th May 2025, as part of the ongoing theme “Best Out of Waste.” The initiative aimed to instill a sense of environmental responsibility among students while fostering their creativity and imagination by encouraging the reuse of waste materials. The activities were conducted during school hours, with each class engaged in a unique hands-on project that demonstrated the importance of recycling and upcycling in fun and artistic ways.
For Class I, the activity was Paper Cup Puppets. Students transformed used paper cups into adorable animal puppets using scraps of paper, cloth, googly eyes, and sketch pens. This engaging craft not only sparked their imagination but also emphasized the value of reusing everyday materials.
Class II students took part in the Newspaper Fan activity. They folded old newspapers and decorated them with coloured paper and sketch pens to create beautiful hand fans. This activity helped students appreciate the concept of turning simple waste into useful and decorative items.
The students of Class III showed great enthusiasm in making Newspaper Gift Envelopes. By folding and decorating old newspaper pages, they learned how to creatively repurpose paper into attractive and functional envelopes, encouraging sustainable practices in everyday life.
For Class IV, the activity involved making a Paper Cup/Paper Roll Pencil Stand. Students used old cups or paper rolls to design vibrant pencil stands by wrapping them with coloured paper or newspapers and embellishing them with sketch pens. This activity highlighted how creativity and environmental care can go hand in hand.
The day was filled with colour, creativity, and a strong message about the importance of reducing waste. Through these fun and meaningful activities, students not only explored their artistic talents but also took a step forward in becoming responsible, eco-conscious citizens.
