Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April across the globe to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet. The theme for Earth Day 2025, “Our Power, Our Planet,” emphasizes the collective responsibility of individuals, communities, and governments to act urgently on climate change and environmental issues.
At Ideal Indian School, Junior Section, Earth Day 2025 was celebrated on Tuesday, 22nd April, with a series of fun and creative activities that engaged students and highlighted the importance of environmental protection.
The day began with a special assembly for Class 4 students. Maryam Faizal of Class 4H delivered a thoughtful speech on the significance of Earth Day. As part of the celebration, students of Class 4 actively participated in a Slogan Presentation Activity. The young environmental enthusiasts displayed colourful placards with powerful and meaningful messages about saving the Earth.
In a touching group performance, the students of Class 4 also presented an Earth Day song, beautifully highlighting the importance of caring for our planet. The assembly was further enriched by an inspiring address from the Headmaster, Mr. Sajid Shamim, who spoke about pressing environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change. He encouraged students to take small but meaningful actions in their daily lives to care for nature and live sustainably.
Across the Junior Section, different classes celebrated Earth Day in their own unique ways:
- Class 1 students participated in a nature-themed colouring activity, fostering creativity and environmental awareness.
- Class 2 students made beautiful paper crowns decorated with leaves, flowers, and Earth Day slogans. The activity emphasized the use of eco-friendly and recyclable materials, and the students proudly wore their creations as a show of their love for nature.
- Class 3 students crafted paper bags using old newspapers and recycled paper, promoting the importance of reducing waste and reusing materials.
- Class 4 students created meaningful posters on the theme “Save Earth.” Using vibrant colours, drawings, and slogans, they conveyed messages about saving water, planting trees, avoiding plastic, and keeping the environment clean. The posters were displayed around the school to inspire and educate others.
The Earth Day celebration was a great success, reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship. All students participated enthusiastically in their respective activities and pledged to adopt simple, eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
