MY VISIT TO PAHALGAM

It was the beautiful morning of  January 1, 2025. We began our journey from the hotel in Pahalgam, where we had spent the previous night. Our plan for the day was to visit Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam on horseback. Baisaran Valley, a popular sightseeing destination, is a hilly area surrounded by dense pine forests and is also called “Mini Switzerland”.We parked our car on the main road and walked a short distance and went to the area where the horses were kept. Riding through the pine forest, surrounded by snowy mountains, felt like traversing a scene from a movie or cartoon. I was enchanted, as if I was journeying through a wonderland. However, when my horse suddenly climbed steep hill, it almost stumbled, causing me to scream in fear. Thankfully, it safely climbed the hill , and we continued our ride for a considerable distance.

Finally, we arrived at the entrance to Baisaran Valley. The vast meadow was completely blanketed in beautiful white snow, creating a mind-blowing land scape surrounded by gorgeous mountains and pine forests. On one side of the valley, there were so many adventurous activities available, such as ziplines, bungee jumping and zorbing.

After some time, we got back on to our horses and rode a long stretch again. Getting down the hill on horseback was much scarier than climbing up the hill. Then we went back to our car and continued our exploration of Pahalgam. Now, whenever I hear about the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, it just makes my heart explode. Last week the driver who drove us around Kashmir shared with my father that they have no job and no income now. I truly hope that the scars of these events fade away and that everything went back to normal soon.
