FIRST AID TRAINING SESSION

FIRST AID TRAINING SESSION

The Ideal Indian School Girls section conducted a first aid training program for fifth and sixth grade students during fifth and sixth period on October 20, 2024. The program began at 10.20am with a prayer by Bathul Ahammed from class VI I and Ms. Padmaja O, welcomed the gathering.. Followed by the principal address by the school principal, Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb. Dr. Shafnaz Abdulrahman Muhammad, a general practitioner at KIMS Health Medical Center in Qatar, then led the training session.

First aid is not just about knowledge; it’s about being prepared to act when it matters most. The program began with explaining the need for awareness of first aid in school. The doctor explained it is necessary to ensure a secure learning environment goes beyond academics. The doctor went on to discuss the many kinds of injuries that students may experience and the first aid to be given in each situation, like a nosebleed, head bump, seizure, or accidental injury, sunburn, and the R.I.C.E. treatment for sprains, strains, twists, etc. were explained.

Students also gained knowledge about the first aid box and school bus emergency protocol. A demonstration was conducted for life-saving skills such as CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and BLS (Basic Life Support) which are vital for school personnel. The doctor also discussed the importance of having the emergency contact details to aid us in critical situations.

First aid is not just about treating injuries; it’s about saving lives and providing care in moments of crisis. The fundamental ideas enlightened the students. The students also had a Q&A session with the doctor, which helped in clearing their doubts. The session was really engaging and effective, and the program came to an end at 11.45am.
