On February 23, 2025 the Astronomy Club of Ideal Indian School organized an
educational trip to Al-Thuraya Planetarium, Katara, aiming to enhance
students’ understanding of astronomy, celestial bodies and space exploration. 90
Students of grade 7 along with teachers left the school campus by 8.00am. The
students were accompanied by the Coordinator of the astronomy club Mr. Anvar
and five other teachers Ms. Nishima, Ms. Malini, Ms. Neema, Mr. Rajarajan and

black holes, constellations and vastness of universe. Through high definition
visuals and surround sound, students experienced the wonders of space as if they
were travelling among the stars. Students also explored the museum within the
planetarium. This provided valuable insights into the evolution of astronomical
research and technological advancements in space science.
After the planetarium visit, students had a fun time at the Katara park, where
they were engaged in recreational activities. This provided a relaxing and
enjoyable conclusion to the educational trip.
Overall the educational trip enriched students’ knowledge and curiosity about space and
astronomy. The trip also encouraged critical thinking and scientific inquiry among
students. By 12.00 noon, the team of teachers and students reported back to school.
