Gandhi Jayanti,

(International Day of Non-Violence)

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Social Science Department of Ideal Indian School organized a
range of activities to commemorate the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and instill his values
among students. Various educational events were held to honor Gandhiji’s legacy.
A tableau was performed during the 6 th and 7 th period by the students of 5 th and 6 th grade in the Ground
floor. The students were selected through an invitation given in the class group. Vice Principal- Dr.
Nazima B. Shiek and Head mistress- Khadija T.C. made an inspiring speech regarding non-violence
and its importance, followed by a tableau. The event was compered by class 9 G student Aysha Zenha
and vote of thanks by Tanishee Tapa from 9K.
Classroom activities were also organized for students of Classes 5 to 8, with active participation. The
activities included:
Collage Making – class 5
Drawing (Swatch Bharat) – class 6
Calligraphy Writing – class 7
PPT – class 8
All focused on Gandhiji’s values. These activities provided students an opportunity to express their
admiration for Gandhiji’s life and his role in India’s independence movement, while also learning
about the significance of his ideals in today’s world.
Students were encouraged to ask questions and discuss Gandhiji’s philosophy and its relevance today,
making the program interactive and educational. This helped them gain a deeper understanding of
Gandhi Jayanti and the lasting importance of his principles.
