Ideal Indian School recently held an exciting Read-a-thon Week to encourage students to develop a love for reading. The week was filled with fun and interactive activities that highlighted the importance of reading. Students from both morning and evening sections took part in different competitions, helping them build a deeper interest in books and literature. Throughout the week, the school organised engaging programs for students of all grades. These included contests like Reading Champ, Character Dress and Speak, Create Your Own Book Cover, Twist the Tale, and The Book That Changed Me. These activities helped students dive into the wonderful world of books. IIS collaborated with Crescent Book Store, Qatar to organize a book fair during the read-a-thon week. The book fair served as a vibrant hub of literary enthusiasm, where students had the opportunity to explore a vast selection of books.
At the opening ceremony of Read-a-thon Week, Principal Mr. Shaik Shamim Saheb spoke about the importance of reading. He shared how reading builds knowledge, improves vocabulary, and helps students think critically, imagine creatively and understand others better. The students of the Junior Section showcased a vibrant song and dance performance to promote the joy of reading. Students took part in many activities, including processions , reading games to spread the message of reading. TThe book fair also saw many parents visiting and getting involved, showing strong support for building reading habits among children.
