On April 23rd, 2025 (Wednesday), the Junior Section celebrated Reading Day to commemorate Shakespeare Day, honouring the birth and legacy of the world-renowned playwright William Shakespeare. The event was designed to instill a love for reading and the English language among students, especially at the primary level.
A variety of engaging and age-appropriate activities were conducted for Classes 1 to 4:
- Grade 1 students participated in a fun “Read and Colour” activity, where they read simple sentences and coloured the corresponding pictures, helping them connect words with images.
- Grade 2 enjoyed a “Secret Word Pass” game that promoted listening, reading, and vocabulary skills through the challenge of passing and discovering hidden words.
- Grade 3 took part in “Search and Find,” a reading-based scavenger hunt where students looked for words from their books and identified the sentences in which they appeared.
- Grade 4 tackled a creative challenge called “Poetry Puzzle,” in which students assembled short poems in the correct order and recited them to their classmates.
These activities were not only fun and interactive but also introduced students to the world of literature in a playful and memorable way. The event aimed to encourage young learners to develop a lifelong love for reading. The Reading Day celebration successfully raised awareness about the richness of English literature and inspired students to explore the world of books more deeply.
