IIS Students Witness Dazzling Meteor Shower

The Astronomy Club of Ideal Indian School arranged a visit to witness the Geminids meteor shower at a special event on December 14, which took place at a stargazing center located in Al Kharrara, Al Wakrah. Ajith Everester, an astrophotographer, explained that the meteor shower, originating from the Gemini constellation, is one of two annual showers that occur when the Earth passes through debris left by asteroids. Fifty-two students from various classes got an opportunity to witness one of the most dazzling displays of shooting stars this year.
